     | No Title 02/23/07 (reviewed by: Eric Knight from Colorado) | This company provided that aboslute WORST online purchasing experience I have ever had, and that is saying a lot since I have bought a multitude of items (large and small) online over the last 5-10 years!
They first accepted the order I placed for what seemed a good price with a reasonable delivery time. When I had not received any notice of shipment after several days, I called them... several times being told that they would check it out and call me back, which they never did. I finally called back after about a week and reached someone in customer service who seemed to have a clue about how to resolve what had apparently become a problem. The washer and dryer I ordered were last year's model and no longer available to them, so she upsold me to this years model for a price of about $500 more than I originally intended to pay. That was alright, because they had them 'in stock' and the newer models had more features.
After another week I still had not received notice of shipment and proceeded to go through the same process of 'we will call you back' for several days. I finally fired off a nasty email and, low and behold, I got a shipment notification via email the next day... still no return call.
It has now been about 3 more weeks, and I just received my washer, dryer, and risers. Well, when they changed the washer and dryer models, they didn't bother to change the riser models, so I now have two risers I can't use. I called them immediately upon discovering that this was not the appropriate riser for the new washer and dryer. I was put on hold and then hung up on. I called back, and I was asked to hold and then routed to customer service, where no one answered. I called back again, this time directly to customer service, and was informed by a computerized voice that I was third in line... waited... waited... after five or ten minutes a recording came on asking me to leave a message, which I did (none to nice!). After not receiving a callback within an hour, I tried to call again. This time I was routed directly to the customer service voicemail, as if no one was there at all. I called back again about 15 minutes later with the same result. I finally decided to call and get the operator to connect me to the manager of customer service directly... the operator prompt ALSO immediately shunted me to voice mail.
It has now been more than six weeks since I originally placed my order, and I have a washer and dryer that cost more than what I originally wanted with a riser for each that is a model number that won't fit them. I have been waiting for over an hour for their callback with intermittent calls I've made in between waiting, all of which were shunted directly to their voice mail.
Vendors like this are the reason online shopping sometimes has a bad reputation!!! |
|  |      | BAD MISTAKE 05/26/06 (reviewed by: anhernandez from Texas) | I purchased a LG WM3431HW All-In-One Washer and Dryer from AJ Madison online on 05/19/06 and when it was delivered and we turned it on for the first time, water gushed out the bottom of the unit. I called AJ Madison but no one answered, so I called LG. They sent a repairman to check out the unit. He found that the drum had a 4 in crack and concluded it was probably a manufacturing problem. The repairman contacted LG and LG notified him that they would not honor the warranty on the unit because AJ Madison is not “an authorized dealer”. So in short, all that warranty posted on the AJ website under SPECIFICATIONS (Parts and Labor: 1year, Control Board: 2 years, Motor: 7years, Drum: Lifetime) does not apply to any LG product purchased from AJ Madison. I’m pretty sure you can call this false advertisement. According to LG, they only honor the warranty from Circuit City because they are authorized to sell their products.
I am now currently dealing with AJ Madison. It seems that they are extremely short in staff. It takes 20 min to get to a customer service representative and after waiting and waiting and being told you are the next customer in line for a representative; it cuts your call and sends you to the answering machine. The representatives seem nice and helpful but my authorization for a return and possible refund are still pending.
