meritline.com web site looked legit, the pay was expedited through Google checkout, everything went smoothly; the product arrived two days later (USPS rules) in a shiny box stating 'SIM reader Lead Tide' (no model or serial numbers).
Unfortunately it never worked. My W2k based computer detected the USB device, but could not find a proper driver, not on computer and not on included minidiskette, which contains over a dozen executable files from various vendors without any explanation, rhyme or reason. No manual was included not even the 'Guid book' advertised on the box (no 'Warranty repair-card/Extensional cable') []sic].
Internet search just revealed many frustrating people trying to make the device work in vain, some claiming finding a partial solution, others giving up and accepting the loss.
When I asked Meritline for return I was offered to exchange the product or accept 15% for restocking fee and the rest as in-store credit.
I feel this is a product never quite developed being put in a box and sold for a low price by a low reputate vendor with a thick skin. |

Called CS, took two tries to get a person and not voicemail, girl transfered me to another girl run around. She said she would have to email me a form, to fill it out and send it back. Nope, not a form, just instructions to fax/scan my packing slip and send it to them, take digital photos of the box, photos of the box with items in it, measure the box and send them measurements. Are you kidding me, no way! They are smart enought not to tell you that you have to do all that over the phone because they know they would get ripped a new one every 5 minutes seeing all these complaints. Filled with BBB only to see they have tons of complaints already. |

Finally searched web site for customer DISservice, was directed to a disconnected phone number, finally found a phone number in order confirmation email. Called and was told that they emailed me twice to say I needed to order miniDVDs in multiples of 100 (which I had done) and since they had not heard back, they cx the order. I NEVER received the emails, not trapped in any Spam filter, I believe they screwer up and will not admit it. After talking to the rude person at Meritline, an email arrived confirming the cancellation (8 days after the order was placed). Why would the confirmation and the delayed cancellation find my mail, but not the two supposed other queries?
I asked why they could not just reinstate the order, they declined to help. Again, I think they just did not want to admit to either being lazy or messing up.
Bottom line, if you really don't care or don't need the products, shop meritline, the prices are OK. |

I was going for a family get together and I had ordered plenty of stuff to give away as gifts almost 2 weeks in advance. The customer rep confirmed the availability of stock and the next day after I placed the order, the customer rep informed that the order will be shipped that day. After a week when I didn't receive the goods or any tracking information, I contacted them and they said my items were in backorder. They made me wait till the last minute assuring that the items will be in stock and will be sent to me by rush delivery to me before I leave (2 weeks after I placed the order). And on the day before I was leaving, I was told that it was not in stock and they will gladly cancel my order. And the best part was that I called them and acted to place a new order, and I was again told that everything was in stock and will be shipped in 1-2 business days. I am not sure who to believe. This whole thing has caused me so much embarrassment in front of my family, that I will never buy form these guys again. And I would suggest everyone who plans to buy from here, to place your order and follow up with it every single day because they don't care to inform you if there is some issue with your order. So unless you have plenty of time to wait for the products and contact them daily regarding updates to your order, I would strongly suggest that you don't buy from them. |
|  |      | NO customer service - BAD PRODUCTS 05/25/06 (reviewed by: BOB from Herndon VA) | Bought cables twice and twice they did not work . You buy something from them , its not going to work and then they will ask you to ship it back to them . They will remind you of the policy that the customer has to pay for shipping in order to receive the refund . So ......you keep buying , you keep shipping it back , thats what happens with this store . Go to other stores .....there are lot more with similar prices for cables ......much better . shipping is better in other places too ,here shipping took 10 days + 2 days of processing time . I thought they had forgotten to ship my order , I kept emailing them , no replies , called them on the phone , went to an answering machine .......my advice , pay more at some other place |
